WHO WE ARE

- An association for voluntary service, born in 1945
- A NGO (Non Governmental Organisation) recognised since 1973 by the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as well as by the Commission of the European Community. It is a member of the Federation of Organisations of Christian Inspiration for International Co-operation (Volontari nel mondo – FOCSIV). With other Italian NGOs has formed a network called IRIS (In Network Innovation for Development), which aims at making the action of the partners more effective and efficient, both in poor Countries and in Italy
- A non-profit organisation according to the Italian law: all donations made in Italy in favour of Ce.L.I.M. activities are fiscally deductible

90% of our budget is actually spent in the implementation of the development programs.

WHAT WE DO

- Projects for development in the poorest Countries, with the target of favouring self-development of local population, taking into account their real capacities and available means.
Every action is carried out, with the aid of volunteers, by local personnel and organisations, which take upon themselves the follow-up of the activities after project conclusion
- Sensitisation activities in Italy on a worldwide approach crossing every cultural, political and geographical boarder

Albania: Skhodër
- Health and home care for elderly people, poorest families and handicapped
- Vocational training for home care operators
Kosovo: Gjakova
- Micro-credit for revenue generating activities in rural areas

Zambia: Siavonga
- Health education and AIDS prevention in schools and villages
- Micro-credit for the population of rural and urban areas
Chikuni
- Training in agriculture for the youth and promotion of sustainable agriculture
Chirundu
- Prevention and care of AIDS with antiretroviral drugs to avoid contagion from mother to child
Livingstone
- Community centre for orphan children
- Vocational training for vulnerable children, and support to them for finding a job

In past years we have completed programmes in Burundi, Centrafrican Republic, Kenya, Uganda, India, Morocco, Rumania, Ivory Coast.
