"Priest uses text messages
to communicate his sermons"
A northern Italian priest has started sending his sermons via text
message.
Don Ambrogio Cortesi transmits his thoughts daily to 500 parishioners
and 200 friends.
He got the idea from a 70-year-old woman who insisted on having
sermons delivered to her house as she couldn't go to the church.
He sends his thoughts and bits of Luke, his favourite gospel, every
morning, reports Giornale newspaper.
The priest from Vimercate said: "The gospel itself has reached
our days using different media."
"Gospel writers dictated and narrated it, and at some point
they started printing it. I'm using the media of my time,"
he added.
Ananova reported
in July how 2,500 teenagers in Germany followed the first ever mobile
phone church service via text messages.
